Slowly approaching the end of uni semester, it is started to get a little crazy at uni. But I managed to take some time aside today to play with Layla's Flash Black Holo. Out of all the Layla Holographic polishes, FB was the one that I wanted the most from the collection.
This is four coats of FB, the formula is kind of difficult to apply. I don't know about anyone else, but I had a few issues with bald spots towards the tip of my nails. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't buff my nails properly with the holographic file? Hmm anyway. By the fourth coat it was even and the spots were corrected.
In the sun, Flash Black is stunning. The holographic is SO effective, and just beautiful. It's not really what I would call a black holographic, it's more of a gunmetal grey. In the shade, the colour is.. meh. It's boring, it's plain and looks grey - very similar to China Glaze's Stone Cold but with a green/yellow pigment. It's hard to explain - but basically, I decided that it needed to be stamped.
I used Bundle Monster's 206 plate, with Black Konad polish. Then applied two coats of SV.
Do you notice anything different? I've filed my nails down shorter! Why? Well as much as I long having long nails, there isn't really much point having them that long unless you're 100% happy with them. Well for me, although I prefer long nails - my nails were starting to narrow towards the tip. It's hard to explain, but basically I've shortened them so I can re-train them to grow the way I want them to :) What do you think?
The stamping made a world of difference. Very, very good result.
