The MAC products sold in Target throughout Australia were Counterfeit!

I say allegedly, because this information has only just been released to the public. So who knows how many versions there are to this story which will evolve from this. But it all makes sense to me now, am I not the only one that has been trying to purchase a MAC eyeshadow - to only be confronted by a shelves of testers?!

For weeks I have been scouting Target stores to try and get my hands on the much adored 'Club' eyeshadow. However it seemed strange that over a week ago, my friend and I went to have a look to see if they had re-stocked and the shelves were empty. I asked the employee if they were getting anymore products in, or if they have stopped selling them. Her response was that they were not sure when they would be receiving their orders so they had taken the entire display down.

Okaaaaayyyy..

Why not leave the testers there so people know what the range consists of? I shrugged it off and haven't really thought much about it since. Not that I am implying that the girl I spoke to know what was happening, I actually feel sorry for the workers in these types of situations - they're the ones that have to deal with the annoyed customers. Especially when all the refunds will start coming in.

The reason why I bring this up, is because I find it frightening that even a giant company like Target can also be mislead in relation to counterfeit products! It makes me wonder how many times I have been ripped off without realising :\

  1. I often wonder how many times I've been ripped off without realising too. I was buying OPI from Price Attack at Chermside (in Brisbane) and then found out from OPI that they're not an authorised seller. I don't know if they actually are the real deal or not but I don't want to waste my money on something that might not be the real deal.

  2. I feel really disappointed in target and hope anyone who purchased "mac" receive their money back, I'm glad all of the counterfeit products ran out before you were able to buy any :/
