Gradient Nails - My first attempt

I've been admiring gradient nails on many blogs for awhile now, so I thought - why not? I used the technique from Nailasaurus' tutorial, which involves mixing the polishes together before sponging. I found the first nail to be a little awkward, but it got easier as I continued. I thought the hardest part was trying to decide which colours to use!

I decided to use Essence 'Break Through' and Nicole by OPI's 'Razzle Dazzler'. The cleanup isn't the best, sorry! But overall I'm pretty happy with it. What do you think? I think that I need to improve on the transition section between the black and purple, I wish I could have gotten a smoother change. Do you have another technique you use for gradients?
